A wood print is ink laid directly onto timber. There is no paper and no laminate. You are looking at the panel itself. That means the grain and the natural color of the wood come through wherever the image is light, and the finished piece has a warmth that no other surface we print gives you.
Understand this before you order
Wood is not white. Anything printed on it shifts warm, and pale areas of your image will show the grain running through them. On the right picture that is the whole appeal. On the wrong one it looks like a printing fault.
It works beautifully for: landscapes, sepia and vintage-toned photographs, hand-drawn artwork, typography, rustic and craft branding, anything already warm in tone.
It does not work for: images that depend on a pure white background, product shots on white, or photographs that need dense true blacks. A metal print will serve those far better.
Because every panel has its own grain, no two prints are identical. That is inherent to the product.
Prepare the file a little differently
Send 300 DPI at final size, and push the brightness and contrast slightly further than you normally would. The timber absorbs some of the punch, so a file that looks perfect on screen can land a touch flat and muddy. A little extra contrast going in gets you where you want to be.
