Spot UV is a clear, glossy coat printed only where you want it. On a matte card the contrast is the whole effect: the logo shines, the rest stays soft. It is the easiest way to make a card feel expensive without changing the design.
How to set up the spot UV
Send two files: your normal full color artwork, and a matching black and white mask where black marks every spot that gets the gloss. Keep the mask shapes simple and at least 1/16 in thick. We check both files before anything prints.
Front only or both sides
Most people put the spot UV on the front logo only. Choose both sides when the back has a pattern or a second logo worth highlighting.
