Metal is the practical one. Where canvas is warm and acrylic is dramatic, a metal print is a photograph you can hang somewhere real and forget about. A kitchen, a bathroom, a salon, a boat, a commercial space that gets wiped down every night.
What it looks like
The panel is white and the ink sits on top of it, so light areas keep a faint metallic sheen and whites read brighter than they do on paper. The overall effect is cool and modern rather than soft. Architecture, coastlines, black and white, product shots and anything graphic all suit it.
Skin tones can go slightly cool. If you are printing a family portrait and want warmth, canvas is the better choice.
Why people choose it over everything else
It is waterproof. Steam, splashes and humidity do nothing to it.
You can clean it with a damp cloth and ordinary household cleaner.
It will not yellow, warp, slacken or grow mold.
It does not break. Drop an acrylic panel and you have a problem; drop this and you have a dent at worst.
It is also the lightest of the rigid options. The panel is about a millimetre thick, so hanging is easy.
