A brochure is what you hand someone who has already shown interest. It has room to answer the second and third question, which a flyer never does.
The fold is a layout decision, not a finish
Pick this before you design anything, because it decides how many panels you have and what order people see them in.
Tri-fold. Six panels, the classic rack brochure. One panel faces out on a display stand, so that panel has to earn the pick-up on its own.
Important: the panels are not equal widths. The panel that tucks inside is trimmed a few millimetres narrower so the fold closes flat. Design to our template or your inside panel will have its edge eaten.
Half-fold. Four big panels. The most room to breathe and the easiest to lay out. Choose it when you have photography rather than sections of text.
Z-fold. Six panels concertina’d, so it opens flat and reads left to right like a small poster. Ideal for a timeline, a process, a menu or a price list.
Gate-fold (+$15). Both ends fold in to meet in the middle and open like doors. It is a reveal, and it works beautifully for a launch or a premium product. On a price list it is fifteen dollars of theatre nobody asked for.
